Description

We have an exciting new opportunity to join our IT Department as an IT Business Partner. The role involves acting as an interface between the business and the IT function, understanding the needs of the business, scoping new developments and changes and seeing this through until completion.

This a permanent position based in either our Bristol or London office offering hybrid working.

The role

The IT Business Partner will be the focal point for IT needs within the business unit, ensuring the IT project pipeline accurately reflects the priorities and needs of the business.

Other key responsibilities include:

Strategic Alignment: Understanding the business strategy, objectives, and challenges of assigned business units or departments, collaborating with business leaders to identify opportunities where IT can add value and drive innovation to support business goals

Relationship Management: Building strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business, attending forums to represent IT and ensuring business requirements and IT capabilities are aligned. Working closely with business stakeholders to gather and prioritise IT requirements, ensuring that proposed solutions align with business priorities and objectives

Solution Delivery: Collaborating with IT teams to develop and implement technology solutions that meet business requirements and deliver value to the organisation, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the expected level of quality. Helping business stakeholders understand and adapt to changes resulting from ITS initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and user adoption

Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitoring the performance and effectiveness of ITS solutions and services in meeting business objectives, providing regular reports and updates to business stakeholders on the status of ITS initiatives, key metrics, and achievements

Vendor Management: Managing relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring that their products and services align with the needs of the business, negotiating contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality solutions

Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvement and optimization within both the business and ITS functions, staying informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to proactively identify opportunities for innovation

Risk Management and Compliance: Collaborating with business and IT teams to identify and mitigate risks related to technology implementations and operations, ensuring that IT solutions comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards

Business Relationship Governance: Establishing governance structures and forums to facilitate ongoing communication and collaboration between ITS and business stakeholders, participating in steering committees or advisory boards to provide input on ITS strategy and priorities

We are looking for:

  • Exceptional stakeholder and relationship management skills, able to influence and drive collaboration leading by example
  • Possessing excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex problems in a non-technical and simplified manner
  • Knowledge of ITIL, Prince2 and Agile methodology and working practices preferable but not essential
  • Well organized with attention to detail whilst self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative
  • Flexibility to travel within the UK and internationally
  • Experience of working in a large multi business unit corporate organization and centralised IT functions
