The role
We are seeking a tax litigator, with NQ to c.3 years of PQE. There
will be an interesting spread of contentious work, including direct
and indirect tax.
There will be opportunity to be part of a team acting on high profile
matters. Recent highlights include:
Advised TSB in relation to a complex VAT dispute concerning the
correct treatment of services provided to it under a transitional
services agreement arising out of its split with Lloyds.
Acting for Newcastle United Football Club in relation to a
multi-faceted dispute with HMRC stemming from an enquiry into
agents' fees that started with a dawn raid.
Led on major litigation for Universal Cycles Limited concerning
the application of anti-dumping duty following an investigation by
the EU anti-fraud body, OLAF.
Represented Premiership footballer in relation to an image rights
dispute with HMRC.
Knowledge, skills and experience
NQ to c. 3years of PQE or equivalent relevant expertise
