Role overview

The role

To provide technical support of all SharePoint resources, acting as the key conduit for knowledge management, the firm and IT coordination around SharePoint and Power Platform including system support and development and improving and maintaining our use of SharePoint and Power Platform.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and continuously maintain SharePoint intranet and other SharePoint and Power Platform solutions
  • Manage SharePoint Administration including user access and permissions, ensure robust audit processes are in place and followed
  • Create collaborative communication, hub and team sites and workflows where required
  • Establish a Centre of Excellence in relation to our use of the Power Platform
  • Development and support of solutions using various Power Apps
  • Supporting in the management, maintenance, and technical ownership of all SharePoint Online and Power Platform and their related customisations and integrations to help ensure they are meeting business needs
  • Responsibility for troubleshooting and managing escalated 2nd & 3rd line support calls
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and work with teams to analyse, develop, test and implement changes
  • Prepare and maintain documentation relating to systems, processes and procedures
  • Provide and share knowledge with other team members on SharePoint and Power Platforms and ensure we are adhering to best practice.
  • Attend and present technology changes at both architecture review and change advisory boards

Reports to

Insurance and Legal Technology Manager

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Knowledge and proven experience as a SharePoint Online Developer, configuring and using other data stores and SharePoint Framework Package (SPFx) components
  • Knowledge of the SharePoint REST API and Microsoft Graph API
  • Experience developing and using Power Platform (Power App Canvas/Model Driven Apps/ Power Automate/Power Virtual Agents)
  • Experience and understanding of database structures and locating information
  • Experience with integrations with internal systems and data sources
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Azure stack (Azure Functions, Azure AI Services, Azure Storage, Azure Application Insights, Azure Cosmos DB etc.) and Microsoft Entra ID
  • PowerShell Scripting
  • Microsoft certifications in SharePoint & Power Platform are preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge and understanding of agile methodologies
  • Configure and manage permissions and security for SharePoint sites and content, in line with security good practise - role based access and principle of least privilege.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to complete business analysis of processes and translate these into technical solutions.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to identify and develop solutions to enhance and maintain IT/ services.
  • Experience of working within incident, service request and problem management processes.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with a focus on working collaboratively with people within the team and across the organisation
  • Ability to deal with difficult or demanding situations and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstratable experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and solid organisation skills
