We are looking for a proactive Business
Development Executive (BDE) to help support the growth of our cross
firm Regulatory practice.

marketing and business development services across all aspects of

This position would be suited to an
experienced Business Development Assistant, Coordinator or Executive
who is looking for a full mix role where they can make an impact in
helping shape one of the firm's most dynamic practice areas. The
role offers a balance of project ownership/autonomy with the
opportunity to get involved in team initiatives through working
alongside the wider Brand, Clients and Markets (BCM) team, and
supporting the Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) and
Business Development Manager (BDM) with the implementation of the
Pillar's strategic plan.
The role will be extremely varied, working
with teams across the breadth of RPC and being involved in all of
the operational workstreams that drive our BD strategy forward. This
is a high-profile role and would suit someone who is confident, able
to provide strategic input and has strong attention to detail and
communication skills. The role has a primary focus on marketing and
business development but will also be involved in other go to market
initiatives including strategic events and other commercially
important activities.
The successful candidate will have
experience gained within a marketing and business development
function at a professional services firm. Experience of working with
Regulatory, Compliance or Dispute Resolution groups would be
advantageous but not essential.
Reports to
Business Development Manager (Regulatory)
Key Responsibilities:
Business intelligence
Understanding the service profile and
key audiences of each practice area serviced and its nuances
Business planning
Assisting the SDBM and BDM to develop,
with the relevant partners, a BD/Marketing plans for each business area
Business Development
Working alongside fee earners and the
Group's SBDM/BDM to implement the planned activities for each area
of the business and ensure budgetary control of those activities including:
Publications and campaigns
Take ownership of the ongoing regular
production of flagship Regulatory Group publications and identify
opportunities to evolve them to suit the needs of our clients.
Support with and lead on the successful
rollout of selected Providing proactive end-to-end project
management of campaigns and initiatives.
Coordinate and project manage the
production regular podcasts and vlogs
Establish and monitor an approach to
measure return on investment on marketing and brand building activities.
Marketing collateral
Working with fee earners and others in
BD & Marketing to develop marketing collateral (eg capability
statements and other promotional materials)
Maintaining capability statements and
fee earner biographies on a rolling basis and being the
"go-to" person for those documents
Digital and communications
Working with the Communications and
Digital teams to ensure that social media and other online
networking opportunities are exploited
Coordinating social media promotion of
Regulatory Pillar Initiatives
Working with the Communications and
Digital teams to ensure relevant and up-to-date information is
included within the firm's intranet (EDGE) and on the firm's website
Assisting the Head of Practice
Development in co-ordinating and collation of content for internal newsletters
Supporting the BDM and working with the
CRM team on client mailings
Bid support
Work closely with the SBDM and Bid
Manager to support the delivery of bids, proposals, client
presentations and capability statements.
Support the creation and maintenance of
a bank of Regulatory Pillar pitch resources through compiling
existing pitch content (by practice area, team and sector),
identifying gaps and drafting compelling content.
Directories and awards
Supporting the BDM in the production of
high quality submissions for selected directory and award
categories.
Events
Briefing and discussion with the Events
team on each event
Working with the CRM and Events teams to
ensure accurate and carefully targeted invitation lists for each event
Briefing and discussion with Events team
on the design and production of supporting collateral, (eg
invitations and seminar packs)
Ensuring budgetary awareness for all events
Supporting and attending events and
planning meetings, rehearsals as required (liaise with Events team)
Working with the Events team to ensure
appropriate event reports and analysis of invitees and attendees etc
Collaboration with knowledge and legal teams
Work together with the Knowledge Team
produce regular competitor and client analysis and insight to
inform Pillar BD development.
Work with the BCM team and the lawyers
to identify opportunities, build overall brand and reputation in
the external marketplace, and develop marketing and BD material
for new and existing Regulatory products and services.
Provide advice and guidance to lawyers
concerning how to raise profile, awareness and drive market
reputation to key buyer groups.
Supporting the regular Regulatory
Knowledge Board meetings and coordinating all outcomes through to
delivery of appropriate client information.
Work with key membership organisations
to maximise and monitor opportunities for lawyers.
Proposition building and positioning
Supporting the SBDM and BDM to draw on
wider resources to act as the focal point for reporting on
progress on all BCM activity related to the Regulatory Group.
Contribute to internal communications
programs and activities to ensure appropriate positioning of the
practice internally, encourage collaboration and awareness of
regulatory expertise within the firm.
Key Account Management
Work together with the SBDM to create
bespoke content identified for the other Group's key target clients.
Work alongside the SBDM, to develop the
Regulatory Group's Key Referrer Programme and implement CRM best practice.
Work with the Client Relationship
Management team to maintain and develop InterAction lists for
target markets and key campaigns.
