Description

The role:

We are looking for a senior eDiscovery professional to provide consultative and technical expertise in the delivery of our eDiscovery Solutions services to Simmons & Simmons lawyers and clients. You will help lead the London based project management team and drive the development of innovative workflows and processes to ensure we are utilising the right technology for the right matters.

What will you do:

Consultation

  • To educate, consult with and advise lawyers and clients on project scoping, data identification, collection, and processing, including the use of early case assessment (ECA) strategies and workflows.
  • To educate, consult with and advise lawyers and clients on bespoke document review strategies and workflows and to ensure that the most innovative and efficient techniques are being used on every project.

Technical

  • To drive the firm's understanding and adoption of all types of eDiscovery technology, especially conceptual analytics, and machine learning.
  • To develop an internal training programme for internal Simmons users, and to provide training and product demonstrations to both internal and external users.

Strategic

  • To lead the project management team and ensure all tasks and projects are being successfully managed and deadlines are met.
  • To work with the Head of eDiscovery to support the development and implementation of the firm's eDiscovery strategy and best practices.

What we are looking for:

  • An excellent communicator who can confidently speak to and advise senior lawyers and clients, and who can present to large groups of people.
  • A leader who will take initiative to help innovate technically, improve processes, develop the team, and drive the business forward.
  • A motivated manager who will be able to effectively lead a diverse team and support the education and career development of each team member.
  • A team player who works well in a team environment but can also manage their workload independently. A fast learner who operates in a relaxed and friendly way.
  • A technically proficient, logical, and analytical person who will question the way things are done, find solutions to technical problems, and implement those solutions across the department.
  • Minimum of 5 years eDiscovery project management & Relativity experience.
  • Law firm experience highly desired. Experience working at a litigation support service provider, consultancy, or software company also a plus..
  • A strong technical understanding of litigation support and eDiscovery technology.

About the eDiscovery Solutions Team

Our eDiscovery Solutions team leverages technology to get to the facts of each matter faster. Whether analysing large document sets for investigations or managing complex disclosure exercises, we work with our clients to understand the business challenges they face. We then select the right technology and develop customised workflows to enable our clients and lawyers to reach informed legal decisions.

Our embedded eDiscovery consultants work closely with the lawyers as part of the case team to help quickly identify and review the right documents. We routinely leverage machine learning and AI technology to help legal teams understand the key facts in the matter, which enables them to use that knowledge to drive their case strategy.
