Our international banking team operates as a global fully-integrated practice acting for banks, government agencies and corporates on some of the most complex and innovative transactions worldwide. Our expertise includes acquisition and bid finance, real estate finance, structured finance, syndicated lending, secured lending, project finance, trade finance, asset finance and workouts and restructurings.

Our team works to ensure that banking transactions proceed quickly and effectively, with the minimum of fuss. Our position as a world class law firm, with a finance practice covering all facets of debt, structured lending and securities issues, enables us to put any transaction into the right context and provide the services which are appropriate to it.

The team has 127 staff, including 37 partners. Our lawyers advise on global banking issues, operating from the following locations: Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam, Brussels, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

The client base of the Banking team is predominately banks, investment funds and high end borrower work, much of which is headline making. Much of our lender and borrower work falls in line with the firm's sector approach and we have developed a strong reputation acting in the Financial Institutions sector advising international financial institutions as well as funds and non-bank lenders. Other key sectors for the firm are the Asset Management and Investment Funds, Telecoms, Media & Technology (TMT) and Healthcare & Life Sciences where we advise as both specialist lender/borrower counsel, as well as continuing the more traditional lending work for the bank client base.

The firm is at the forefront of digital transformation and AI and technology based solutions for clients.

The role

We are seeking a Supervising Associate to join our growing team to work alongside the partners based in Bristol, London and the international Banking group. The role can be based in either of our London or Bristol offices and the role has a UK and international focus. The UK Banking team works seamlessly across Bristol and London.

The successful candidate will have good range of both transactional and general banking experience (with a focus on corporate lending and acquisition finance), ideally gained from working within an international or leading regional firm.

As the Banking team continues to grow, the candidate will have the opportunity to work for the on a varied spread of work advising the world's leading financial institutions as well as a significant number of the current FTSE 100 and Fortune Global 500 companies

Person specification

  • Excellent academics.
  • Applicants will ideally be 3-6 PQE, which will have been gained at another international or leading regional firm.
  • Strong client focus with an ability and willingness to get actively involved in marketing and business development.
  • Commercially driven.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a diverse and inclusive team.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to work additional hours on occasion as required.
