Singapore Training contract 2024

This is where you join the world of law for the long-term, starting a lasting career with us. You'll join a two-year programme where our teams will teach you everything they know about the world of law. With four seats in different practice areas, you'll find out where your interests lie, and you'll work your way up to qualifying as an associate with us. There's a lot packed into your training contract, so we've created a full career journey to help you understand what's involved and what the benefits are.

Our 12-month Practice Training contract & 12-month Training contract

Your training contract consists two parts - practice training contract for twelve months and training contract for another twelvemonths. You will start with Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations. Simmons & Simmons will reimburse the cost of the Part B Bar Exam and the preparatory course fee upon joining us. We will also offer a monthly stipend of SG$800 for candidates who have accepted a training contract with us.

Then, you'll start on your practice training contract. It's made up of two six-month seats and you hold a title as Practice Trainee during this period. When you complete the practice contract period, you'll start on your training contract which consists another two six-month seats across our practice areas, including Dispute Resolution, Financial Markets and Employment.

Meanwhile, you will also be sponsored to take the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE).Therefore, upon the completion of our 2-year training programme, you will be qualified in both Singapore and England & Wales.

At the end of your four seats, you'll hopefully qualify with us as a fully-fledged lawyer, graduating to associate. So your training contract marks the start of your full-time career.
