Main purpose of the role:

Simmons Adaptive is currently searching for Payments/Retail Banking Lawyers, available for an interim assignment.

This role will cover the following:

  • Working on account based queries, account terms and conditions and payment services products.
  • Providing legal support to internal bank projects including supporting business and regulatory transformation and representing Legal on relevant working groups and Committees.
  • Providing support on matters related to CCA regulated products.
  • Providing support on strategic business objectives including digital innovation and transformation projects.
  • Supporting on legal function transformation such as off/ on-shoring of lower level activity, preparing playbooks, self-help guides and F&Q and supporting on setting up appropriate processes.

Person specification:

  • You are a qualified Solicitor with over 7 years' PQE with in-house experience in a large financial institution.
  • You must have Payment Services Regulations experience and CCA experience would be an advantage.
  • You are able to work autonomously, handle management responsibilities and be confident in attending steering committees, governance and interacting with senior level stakeholders.
  • Ideally you will have a broad range of commercial/project/ regulatory experience.
  • You have the ability to prioritise and work directly with the Business.
  • You will have strong communication and inter-personal skills.
  • You will be a lateral thinker and are able to problem solve.
