Description

The role:

As an international brand guardian your priority will be to manage and evolve the brand. Improving the awareness and perception of Simmons through great advice and ideas, you will support the delivery of a consistent brand experience across our employees, clients, and communities. You will have day to day responsibility for brand governance and will act as an advisor to our teams around the world. You'll inspire others through your passion for developing distinctive and creative expressions of our brand and you'll bring our purpose to life through internal and external communications.

What will you do:

Brand management

  • Manage and build relationships with agencies and third parties for any brand related work
  • Advise on sponsorship and partnership agreements
  • Responsible for current and future brand marketing technology
  • First point of contact for all brand related queries: visual or verbal identity, content, advertising, office environment, branded goods etc
  • Ensure all brand assets, guidelines and information is always current and available
  • Advising on and reviewing content and thought leadership for format and tone
  • Represent the marcomms team on priority cross-functional projects, ensuring messaging and execution is in line with brand strategy, and creative assets in line with brand identity

Brand governance

  • Reviewing and agreeing creative assets across all channels and materials
  • Reviewing and approving copy and messaging for house style and tone of voice across multiple channels and platforms
  • Provide internal training on brand and communications best practice
  • Highlight, where appropriate, activities that may pose a risk to the firm's brand
  • Work with the head of marcomms to draft and review policies for brand and marketing related topics

Brand development

  • Work with the creative team to evolve the visual identity whilst remaining true to the core brand proposition
  • Work with the wider team to develop brand focused campaigns aimed at either our clients or the media
  • Manage, alongside the head of marcomms and the senior partner, the development and roll out of our new purpose and commitments
  • Work with the head of creative to develop brand expressions that position the firm above and beyond the services we deliver and the work we do
  • Team lead (marcomms) for larger brand-led projects such as thought leadership campaigns, ESG related topics, graduate recruitment, or flagship events

What we are looking for:

About you

  • Passionate about brand, you'll be the kind of person that likes to get involved in a wide range of activities. You recognise the importance of brand, beyond the visual identity, and want to help businesses maximise value from this
  • Confident in communicating and presenting key messages
  • Organised with strong attention to detail
  • Creative in approach and idea generation while being delivery focused
  • Client or audience centric: always thinking customer first
  • The ability to build strong working relationships and to be able to persuade and influence
  • Diplomatic and pragmatic: you work well together with others and flex your approach as needed
  • Resilient and able to remain calm and positive under pressure, and when dealing with challenge

Education/experience/qualifications

  • Seven years' plus of relevant brand experience
  • Working in an international, multi office, environment, a plus
  • Track record of delivering and managing small and large scale projects

Knowledge and technical skills

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent project management skills: able to multi-task and lead projects
  • Experience working on brand development and evolution programmes
  • A creative eye, capable of assessing creative assets and contributing to creative concepts
  • Adequate knowledge of design systems and protocols
  • An understanding of communications within a professional services environment would be of benefit
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong PowerPoint skills
