Main purpose of the role:

Simmons Adaptive is currently searching for a Data Protection Lawyer available for an interim assignment.

This role will cover aspects of Data protection/ privacy work to include.

  • Negotiation of data protection agreements & clauses within these agreements.
  • Assisting the Deputy General Counsel on day-to-day data protection governance such as preparing material for risk committees and board meetings.
  • Support in relation to obtaining new data licences.
  • Safeguarding & reporting.
  • Strong understanding of data processes & privacy framework.
  • Supporting data processes & privacy frameworks.
  • GDPR implementation.
  • Advising on broad data protection issues.

Person specification:

  • You are a qualified Lawyer with a strong background working in data protection.
  • You will have strong knowledge of major data protection laws in the EU and UK such as GDPR, UK DPA, PECR and EDPB.
  • You are experienced in implementing data protection requirements into practice.
  • You have a strong commercial awareness with an understanding of the value drivers of a business.
  • You bring a positive 'can do' attitude and a determination to succeed to the role.
  • With an ability to take initiative, you can also work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • A financial services background or previous background in payments would be an advantage.
