The role:

We are currently looking for a dynamic Legal Designer to join our growing team. Joining one of our market-facing scrum teams, Legal Designers deliver challenging, client-facing projects, using tools and skills to unlock new value, efficiencies, and insights.

The successful candidate can be based in either our London or Cambridge office.

What will you do:

  • Work as part of an agile multi-functional team to understand and articulate client need through a combination of disciplines including law, data, design and technology.
  • Use information to critically assess options and to clearly articulate and support the potential range of approaches that could be applied to problem finding and solution creation.
  • Play an active role in the design, planning, and execution of client projects.
  • Apply design thinking methodologies to cutting-edge client work.
  • Conduct interactive and engaging workshops.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from legal, tech, and other backgrounds.
  • Connect and communicate empathetically with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Apply a critical eye to visual, written, and other forms of communication and documentation.
  • Participate in our Wavelength Academy to grow and share skills and expertise contributing to team-wide professional development.
  • Be willing to flex and apply your skills to business activity in a way that meets the evolving and growing needs of our business.

What we are looking for:

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a degree, equivalent qualification, or relatable work experience.
  • Has 2-3 years of experience of working in the legal, design, or tech sectors.
  • Thrives in a team environment, can multi task, and is proactive.
  • Has excellent stakeholder management skills and can effectively relate to individuals at all levels and experience.
  • Can communicate advanced concepts clearly to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Wants to be part of a diverse and inclusive team.
  • Demonstrates a passion for accessibility.
  • Has great interpersonal skills (including a strong sense of empathy and curiosity).
  • Has a real willingness to learn and contribute, using creative initiative.

It would also be great, but not essential, if you have:

  • A law background or experience in a traditional or non-traditional legal role.
  • Formal design qualifications.
  • A high degree of cultural competency.
  • Experience in UX/UI (design, delivery, and testing).
  • Experience interfacing directly with clients.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, forward-thinking, creative team.
  • Ability to speak confidently, able to share your knowledge and skills with colleagues and perhaps even larger audiences.
