The role:

The successful candidate will help ensure that Simmons & Simmons is operating with effective technical IT Security controls and measures in place. You will provide the operational IT Security capability as part of the IT Security Operations team, working with internal and external technical consultants across the whole spectrum of IT / Internet security, process & client compliance and governance.

What will you do:

• Provide 2nd / 3rd line support & resolution of security issues reported through our monitoring tools and/or raised by users / SoC in areas such as internet access, virus/malware attacks & email.
• Working with the Security & Governance Team to respond to client requests for security briefings in a timely manner and to provide similar guidance to the firm when requested.
• Working with third parties to maintain, evaluate and manage security and SIEM (Sentinel).
• Provide threat intelligence of upcoming malware and attack threats, including reporting CVE / CVSS / NIST. This will also include monitoring of public and private threat analysis tools.
• Carry out physical and digital vulnerability assessments and provide remediation assistance to appropriate teams.
• Work with project teams to provide security overview to new and existing projects.
• Undertake IT Security Projects to maintain or select new or replacement tools for use within the Simmons environment.

What we are looking for:

• A broad understanding of Information Technology, the Internet and how it all ties together, along with current and detailed understanding of the relevant issues in Security and Cyber Crime.
• At least 1 years' experience in an operational IT security / Security Operations role.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure / on Prem AD, and Office 365.This includes comprehensive knowledge of ATP, Windows Defender and MFA.
• Detailed knowledge of enterprise logging tools such as Azure Sentinel / SPLUNK, Next-Generation firewalls (Palo Alto Networks) & diagnostic tools (traceroute, Wireshark, or similar.). Additional specific training will be provided if needed.
• Good networking skills e.g. understanding of different network topologies and architecture concepts.
• Excellent ability to review, resolve and prioritise support tickets in line with SLA's and escalate accordingly where required.
