Reporting to the GCHRO, the Director of Talent Acquisition is
responsible for managing the recruitment and resourcing of attorneys
and policy advisors, including partners. The role reports to the GCHRO
and will work closely with Office Managing Partners, Practice Group
Leaders, the Legal Personnel Committee, local office administration
and the global HR team to plan and source suitable candidates in
accordance with business needs.
This position will be resident in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Columbus,
Cleveland, Miami, or Washington D.C. with a hybrid in-office working schedule.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
Lateral Partner Hiring
Manages the strategic and opportunistic recruitment opportunities in
line with firm growth plans.
Creates and drives the legal resourcing strategy to attract top-level
talent to the firm.
Develops and maintains a solid understanding of the competitive
markets where SPB offices and/or practice groups are based. This role
ensures our strategy links to our actions and plans.
Strategically works alongside position stakeholders to plan and
deliver resourcing requirements with the practice groups and offices,
ensuring there is always a joined-up approach in line with the people plans.
Manages the entire recruitment process once the live vacancy has been
approved, from key stakeholder management, drafting advertisements,
sourcing candidates, reviewing CV's, facilitating interviews,
obtaining feedback, and managing the offer/on-boarding process.
Prioritizes direct sourcing within the market to attract top quality candidates.
Utilizes job boards and LinkedIn Recruiter (as well as paid
advertising) to source and attract candidates to the Firm.
Works with the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) team to ensure
our recruitment strategies are aligned with the firm's DEI objectives
and targets.
Experience and qualifications needed to perform this job successfully:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years attorney recruiting
experience in an AmLaw 200 Law firm, or a recruitment agency, with
at least three years' experience in direct partner-level recruiting required.
Prior experience leading and managing direct reports and legal
recruiting projects required.
Strong knowledge of legal markets and must have developed
relationships in multiple cities and professional associations.
Knowledge of project management principles involved in strategic
planning, resource allocation, and coordination of people and resources.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and
external clients.
Team player who is committed to superior standards of
professionalism and productivity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Capacity to work well under pressure.
Discretion in dealing with confidential information.
Detail-oriented work manner and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

(responsible for our lawyer, policy advisor, support staff and
secretarial staff populations), Learning & Development, Emerging
Talent, Projects, Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Payroll and Rewards &
Benefits. We work closely and collaboratively with other people
functions including LPC and the Office of DEI.
