We have an opportunity for a Business Development & Marketing
Coordinator to join our global Business Development team. The Business
Development Coordinator will provide support for the overall business
development and marketing department, working closely with members of
the team on a variety of tasks, including financial and budget
reporting, proposals and development of marketing collateral,
case/experience tracking and reporting, directory submissions, awards
& accolades, digital marketing, events, presentations, client
research, and other related activities.
Responsibilities include:
Financial reporting: Work with BDM group leadership and related
firm resources on financial planning, analysis, and reporting
related to department budgets.
Prepare and monitor BDM departmental budgets.
Handle budget/expense reporting process and coding.
Train new members of the firm on the budget/expense process.
Process BD expenses and invoices in a timely manner.
Serve as project lead for the BDM team's public intranet page(s)
and private group page(s), ensuring information shared serves the
needs of its audience, is current and easily accessible.
Oversee the functionality and content of intranet/SharePoint
calendars used to track time off for the BDM team as well as
meeting/events across the firm.
Seeks team input and provides suggestions on how to capture
training materials, best practices, tools and tips and other
resources that will help the team be more productive and effective.
Assist with the arrangement for new team member onboarding.
Provide support for RFP and proposals and other client-focused
revenue growth opportunities.
Manage and track pitch and proposal activity for the practices,
including updating the pitch log for all pitch/proposal activity.
Work with relevant BD managers, marketing team and office staff to
ensure successful planning, execution, and measurement of Firm
events, including knowledge-based events, webinars and client
entertainment that have business development as a core focus. This includes:
Pre-event planning and logistics; liaising with the site on
requirements and contracts and coordinating with IT for relevant support.
Budgeting and tracking associated costs; seeking approvals and
providing coding of BD funding requests.
Assist with the development, design, writing and production of
related print and electronic promotional materials including
invitations, website postings, signage, PPTs and handouts. This
includes initial drafting of proposals and other follow-up
correspondence for current and potential clients.
Develop and maintain event-related contact and mailing lists.
Coordinate with vendors on the selection and production of
event-related items such as branded giveaways, gifts, banners, and
other display material.
Assist with post-event follow-up and tracking lead generation; and
ensuring participant follow-up.
Coordinate with Legal Personnel on submitting CLE credit for
events as appropriate.
Working or attending the event if required.
Prepare and update practice group materials as well as collateral
materials for pitch meetings.
Take the lead for updating relevant practice matter tracking databases.
Assist with the tracking and management of the submission process,
directories, awards, distinctions, and surveys.
Coordinate the smooth implementation of baseline requirements for
new laterals such as bios/profiles, photos, news releases,
electronic announcements etc.
Assist with presentations, including PowerPoint and other materials.
Work with the firm's Research Team, preparing detailed client
research in advance of business development opportunities.
We require an Associates' degree (Bachelors' degree preferred), a
minimum of two years of marketing experience within a professional/law
firm, trade association, company or agency or an equivalent
combination of education and experience. We require fluency in
Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint programs and webinar
tools and technology. The ideal candidate will have excellent
organizational, written and oral communication skills and work well
with others in a team environment.
