Description
Technically excellent, innovative and
client-focused on a global scale; that is how we describe our highly
successful Labour & Employment (L&E) team. This is a very
exciting time to join us! You will have the opportunity to
collaborate with teams from our extensive international platform,
working on exciting cross-jurisdictional matters, as well as giving
more locally based advice. This really is a superb role to build
your career by bringing an entrepreneurial energy to work on
challenging matters with some of the most highly regarded and
forward-thinking lawyers in the country.
Our Firm

world's strongest integrated law firms, committed to providing
insight at the point where law, business and government meet. We
deliver commercially focused business solutions by combining our
legal, lobbying and political capabilities and invaluable
connections on the ground to a diverse mix of clients, from
long-established leading corporations to emerging businesses,
start-up visionaries and sovereign nations.
More than 1,500 lawyers in 45 offices
across 20 countries on five continents provide unrivalled access to
expertise. In the UK, we have offices in Birmingham, Manchester,
Leeds, and London.
The firm is committed to promoting an
inclusive and supportive working environment. Embedded by local
champions in each of our UK offices, our well-regarded family and
carer, wellbeing and DEI programmes provide a variety of flexible
working options to support individuals' life journeys, helping our
people pursue their personal and professional goals.
Our Team
We are one of the largest and most
globally focused practices in the world. Our global L&E team has
a truly extensive reach, acting for a range of employers from small
start-ups to listed multinationals, across a broad spread of sectors
and encompassing a wide spectrum of businesses, from professional
services companies to financial institutions.
The team in London presents the
opportunity to work with a variety of renowned partners on a broad
spread of matters across sectors including Technology, Retail,
Financial Services/FinTech, FMCG, Life Sciences, Media and
Advertising, Aviation, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
Our Opportunity
This team has seen sustained revenue
growth over the past 5 years, as a result of an increasing number of
significant and complex mandates, combined with strong demand from
clients in the UK and elsewhere. The team also continues to innovate
as it extends into the tech space, having already developed a number
of award-winning employment law tools and platforms. As a result, we
recognise the need to continue to invest in talent and are keen to
build and grow our existing Associate team.
As well as supporting our clients
with the full range of contentious and non-contentious matters in
the UK, you will be a valuable part of a global client team advising
on large (often cross-jurisdictional) matters and will enjoy front
line client exposure. From day one, you will advise on a wide range
of projects, including drafting global policies and procedures,
disciplinary and grievance issues, restructures and redundancies,
TUPE and changes to terms and conditions. We pride ourselves on
operating as a genuinely joined up team to deliver excellent
service, regardless of the size and scope of each mandate; just one
of the many things we believe differentiates us from our
competition. We also invest in our team's development and do our
best to ensure that they receive a rounded training and have access
to a broad range of work opportunities.
You
You'll be a qualified solicitor under
the laws of England and Wales (ideally with between 3 and 6 years'
PQE). You will have a strong track record in employment law and
should have excellent academic credentials. Whether you are already
in the London market or seeking to make a first move to the capital,
we would be delighted to hear from you.
Solid matter management is a must, as
is ambition, self-motivation and both the desire and the ability to
deliver high-quality work and act on your own initiative. You will
thrive in a collaborative team environment, be intellectually
curious and enjoy resolving challenging legal issues. You should
expect lots of client contact, be willing to take responsibility for
your own matters and look forward to a rewarding and challenging
career path - all of which come with a role in this team at Squire
Patton Boggs.
