We are seeking a Senior Conflicts Analyst
with conflicts and legal research or litigation experience.The Senior Conflicts Analyst is primarily
responsible for working closely with firm attorneys and the
Conflicts & Business Intake department to review, analyze and
resolve potential conflicts issues as it relates to new partner
lateral hires, and all other attorney, paralegal and staff new
hires. In addition, when required the Senior Conflicts Analyst will
also assist in the daily processing of conflicts requests for new
clients and new matters for the US LLP.
Responsibilities Include:
Identify, analyze, and resolve conflicts
with respect to new lateral partner hires and other new lawyer and
administrative hires, pursuant to the applicable Rules of
Professional Conduct in various jurisdictions.
Through the hiring manager, communicates
with lateral candidates to obtain complete and accurate client and
related parties' information to distinguish portable and
non-portable business.
Review all new hire conflict reports,
communicate with originating lawyers and the Firm's Ethics
Partners regarding the initial analysis and recommendations for
conflicts resolution.
Communicates with attorneys by
presenting brief, clear statements of potential conflicts issues
identified in the conflicts reports.
Document decisions on potential
conflicts by recording notes on written memoranda, including
required conflicts waivers and/or disclosures. When necessary,
seek guidance from Ethics Partner as to final decision.
Supports the Business Intake Department
in the online new client and new matter intake process, including
processing conflicts requests and generating conflicts reports.
Provides input on processes of the
department.
Ability to assess the situation and
properly prioritize duties.
Perform other tasks as delegated by the
General Counsel or their designee regarding client engagement,
conflicts of interest, and the applicable Rules of Professional Conduct.
Qualifications
Advanced graduate degree or JD desired.
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Litigation Paralegal, Litigation
Legal Assistant, Legal Research or other comparable position
consisting of researching in a legal environment. Previous
experience analyzing and clearing conflicts is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products,
conflicts searching software and Internet Research Tools.
Strong analytical, research, and
organizational skills. Detail-oriented problem-solver with sound
judgment. Operate independently with deep understanding of problem
analysis and resolution.
