We're looking for a HR Manager to join our fast-growing Madrid

who are focussed on providing the best possible service to our
clients, both internal and external.
Our Firm
Squire Patton Boggs is one of the world's strongest integrated law
firms, committed to providing insight at the point where law, business
and government meet. We deliver commercially focused business
solutions to a diverse mix of clients, from long-established leading
corporations to emerging businesses, start-up visionaries and
sovereign nations.
With over 1,500 lawyers spanning more than 40 offices across four
continents, the firm is renowned for its local connections and global
influence, delivering comprehensive legal services across North
America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and Latin America. Our
Madrid office provides a full-service legal team, working with our
global teams on international projects.
The team in Madrid is backed by a wealth of knowledge and experience
in practice areas and industry groups such energy, real estate,
taxation and IP, among others. The office also acts as a hub for
European clients investing in Latin America.
Our Opportunity
This is a varied role; you'll be responsible for managing the
delivery of day-to-day HR support services to our busy Madrid office,
as well as supporting our global administrative chiefs, regional
directors and managers with the operations of the Madrid office,
including matters concerning premises, information technology, finance
and business development and marketing.
You'll conduct annual performance appraisals with staff, and have
oversight of the recruitment process for the Madrid office, including
the implementation of a recruitment strategy for graduate hires. In
addition, you'll be responsible for onboarding and inducting new hires
into the office, as well as facilitating administrative and regulatory
aspects of departures, changes, secondments, leave of absence and transfers.
There is a significant Operations aspect to the role too, and you'll
have oversight of the local office accounting and billing functions,
as well as an understanding of the Spanish regulatory and tax
requirements, to ensure an effective delivery of finance services in
Madrid. You will also assist the Managing Partner in helping to drive
billing and cash collections for the office. You'll work closely with
our European Operations Manager, and be responsible for coordinating
maintenance and repair works with the needs of the office.
You
You will have a minimum of five years' experience in a HR management
role, ideally within an international law firm environment, along with
proven team management experience, including supervisory, coaching and
performance management skills.
The role will involve dealing with a variety of stakeholders, both
internal and external to the firm, therefore excellent interpersonal,
written and verbal communication skills are essential here. You'll
have a high service ethic and 'can do' approach, with strong attention
to detail. Given the varied nature of the role, well-developed
organisational and time management skills are a must, and project
management experience would be highly beneficial.
You must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
