Description

Are you keen to progress your legal career in a collaborative team environment at an international law firm where your contribution is really valued? Then this could be the role for you. We are looking for an outstanding Paralegal who wants to develop their legal skills and experience in our successful Business Immigration practice in London.

Our Firm

Squire Patton Boggs is one of the world's strongest integrated law firms, committed to providing insight at the point where law, business and government meet. We deliver commercially focused business solutions by combining our legal, lobbying and political capabilities and invaluable connections on the ground to a diverse mix of clients, from long-established leading corporations to emerging businesses, start-up visionaries and sovereign nations.

More than 1,500 lawyers operating in 40+ offices across four continents provide unrivalled access to expertise. In the UK, we have offices in Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, and London.

The firm is committed to promoting an inclusive and supportive working environment. Embedded by local champions in each of our UK offices, our well-regarded family and carer, wellbeing and DEI programmes provide a variety of flexible working options to support individuals' life journeys, helping our people pursue their personal and professional goals.

Our Team

Our well-regarded Business Immigration team is renowned for its excellent advice on business immigration matters and is highly rated in both the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners. It sits within our global Labour & Employment Practice Group and predominantly acts for leading global businesses.

Our client base includes a range of sectors including finance, retail, energy, pharma, engineering, construction, tech and sport. You will work collaboratively with the team on immigration matters, many of which are complex and time critical. Being well-placed to capitalise on our global platform of offices, we are one of the few global, full-service law firms with an established business immigration practice in the UK.

Our Opportunity

You will work largely on Skilled Worker sponsorship applications, providing support to, but closely supervised by the wider team. Material experience in Skilled Worker visa applications, including a thorough understanding of the qualifying criteria, end-to-end process and required documentation is therefore essential.

We recognise hard work and commitment; and in return, we will give you the opportunity to develop and gain valuable experience in a number of interesting and challenging matters.

You

We are looking for someone with a strong academic background, with at least two years' experience working as a Business Immigration Paralegal (in particular, on Skilled Worker visas) and who is keen to develop their career in this area of law. You will be driven, able to work collaboratively within a team but also independently, and demonstrate a real passion for law coupled with a commercial mind-set and service-driven approach.

You will be expected to work in a busy commercial environment, be highly organised, have the ability to communicate effectively and work on your own initiative, whilst knowing when to seek guidance. You will need to have great interpersonal skills, which will allow you to work well within this team.
