We are looking for a Tax Manager to join our Management Accounts team
in Leeds, who will be responsible for compliance and advisory tax
matters for the UK LLP.

Our Team
Our Finance team in Leeds is a large team made up of Management
Accounts, Accounts Payable, Database and Billing, Credit Control and
Client and Office Accounts. The team provides centralised support for
all the UK offices and take pride in providing a world class service
to the firm's internal and external clients.
Our Opportunity
Based in Leeds and reporting to the Group Tax Director, the
individual will be involved in direct tax compliance, planning and
advisory work, indirect tax compliance and staff training.
You will be responsible for the initial preparation of UK LLP Group
tax returns to HMRC, including UK LLP income tax computations and UK
corporation tax returns. The Tax Manager will assist the Group Tax
Director in managing the direct tax compliance processes and returns
throughout the UK LLP Group, working with accounting teams from
offices in Europe and Australia. You will also develop processes to
make tax compliance more efficient.
Additionally, you will review changes in UK and foreign tax
legislation and assess how these changes may affect the UK LLP Group,
with responsibility to advise on issues arising from new tax
legislation. You will take the lead on tax audits, responding to
relevant authorities and assessing any changes required following
closure of an audit.
You will be in charge of analysis and preparation of the VAT returns
for all UK VAT registered entities in the UK LLP Group. You will
prepare and submit the PAYE Settlement Agreement to HMRC on an annual
basis, and co-ordinate the payment of any tax liability arising from
this, as well as provide support to the Payroll and Benefits Team. The
Tax Manager will also be available to assist other parts of the
Finance team as required.
The position requires a diligent individual who maintains a detailed
knowledge base through continuing professional development. The Tax
Manager will be required to explain details of tax and processes, for
the benefit of the UK LLP, so maintaining current knowledge is vital.
You
You will be ATT qualified (or other Tax qualification) with
experience of accounting and tax in a professional services
environment. You will have an understanding of UK and international
tax legislation, and interaction with Accounting Standards, as well as
a very good level of awareness of the tax issues likely to be
encountered in international jurisdictions, particularly those in
which the UK LLP Group operates.
You will be pragmatic, proactive and resourceful, with the ability to
adapt quickly to different situations and personalities. You will have
good IT knowledge/skills and be competent with desktop and Microsoft
packages (Word and Excel) along with experience of using accounting or
legal software.
You will have well-developed diplomacy, listening and influencing
skills, and have the ability to demonstrate a range of influencing
skills, personal impact and communication skills that will ensure
success and command credibility at all levels of the firm.
You will be commercially aware, have strong financial acumen, and
possess the ability to think laterally in identifying and developing
opportunities arising from tax legislation, as well as being open
minded and prepared to assist in the Firm opening new markets.
You will have the ability to work well alone or as part of a wider
team and be confident and credible in dealing with internal and
external stakeholders and clients.
