Do you have previous finance experience in a professional services organisation and a good understanding of VAT? If so, then this could be the role for you. We are looking for a Tax Analyst to join our Management Accounts team in Leeds on a part-time basis.

Our Team

Our Finance team in Leeds is a large team made up of Management Accounts, Accounts Payable, Database and Billing, Credit Control and Client and Office Accounts. The team provides centralised support for all the UK offices and take pride in providing a world class service to the firm's internal and external clients.

Our Opportunity

Based in Leeds and reporting to the Group Tax Director, the individual will be involved in expense analysis, analysis of accounts from the general ledger, tax administration and delivering insight to staff and Partners.

You will be required to work with other members of the Management Accounts team to advise the Accounts Payable team on appropriate coding. You will also review information in the UK LLP accounting system, performing initial analysis on data in ledger codes for classification within the UK LLP Tax Computations.

Additionally, you will be the first point of contact for review of correspondence from tax authorities and other stakeholders. You will have the ability to advise on positive changes in internal processes in the partnership, working with stakeholders to drive these through.

This is a role requiring a diligent individual who would like to expand their knowledge base, with an opportunity to continue their own professional development. The Tax Analyst will be required to explain details of tax and processes, for the benefit of the UK LLP, so a willingness to learn and then maintain current knowledge within the Tax team is vital.

20 hours per week across 5 days, flexibility required

You

You will have a minimum of five years' experience within finance in a professional services environment. You will have a good understanding of UK tax environment, specifically VAT. You will be pragmatic, proactive and resourceful, with the ability to adapt quickly to different situations and personalities.

You will have good IT knowledge/skills and be competent with desktop and Microsoft packages (Word and Excel) along with exposure to accounting or legal software.

You will be an effective communicator and comfortable in dealing with conflict situations, with well-developed questioning and listening skills. You will be able to work alone as well as in a team environment and support colleagues as required. Flexibility required regarding additional hours as the occasion demands.
