The opportunity

We are looking to hire a permanent Paralegal to support the team and the ideal candidate will have prior experience of working in a Real Estate department. This is an exciting opportunity to experience a broad range of tasks and will work very closely with the fee-earners.

The team

Our International Real Estate Group provides specialist advice and support across a wide range of real estate transactions to major domestic and international businesses, developers, investment funds, banks and public sector bodies. We are recognized for our market-leading expertise across the real estate market, and our strength in dealing with cross-border transactions and multi-disciplinary work.

What you'll doThe role will involve supporting our Real Estate team with a variety of legal and non-legal tasks including:

  • Post-completion tasks, including Companies House Filings, SDLT returns and Land Registry applications.
  • Preparation, negotiation and amendment of simple legal documents with appropriate supervision.
  • Undertaking and assisting others to carry out title reports and real estate due diligence.
  • Proactively supporting the team in order to provide excellent client service to our internal and external clients.

About you

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of undertaking real estate due diligence.
  • Experience of simple real estate and real estate finance transactions.
  • Awareness of real estate post-completion formalities.
  • Excellent academic achievement- a relevant degree and/or further legal qualification.
  • Excellent technical document management skills, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Confidence, with proven initiative and a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with superb attention to detail.
  • An ability to stay calm in demanding situations in particular when the fee-earners are operating under pressure.
  • Excellent and proven organisational skills.
  • A proven ability to deal with confidential

In addition, we expect candidates to demonstrate:

  • An ability to build strong working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • An appropriate level of knowledge of key areas of the law and process.
  • The ability to liaise effectively with fee earners and support staff within the group, but also to liaise and coordinate with people from other relevant disciplines and teams including clients and colleagues oversees.
  • Being keen to work in a challenging, team-based environment with flexibility regarding working hours.
