The opportunity

Bird and Bird is seeking an experienced HR System Change Management Lead to work on the implementation of SAP SuccessFactors across our global offices. We have kicked off the project with a system implementation partner (Big 4).

The project will be 12-18 months with a phased implementation of modules. Phase one will include Employee Central, Recruitment, and Onboarding modules, with a go-live of Q2 2025. Phase two will deploy Performance & Goals and Succession & Development. This is a global project for 3,400 users across 22 Countries. Our ambition is to create efficient ways of working through standard processes, an improved user experience and integrations to key business systems for consistent people data across the firm.

You will play an integral role as part of the project team. You will work closely with workstream groups, our implementation partner, our vendor and key stakeholders.

The team

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the Change Management workstream (supported by an internal resource) for the project; provide expertise in Change Management; and work closely with the project team, functional leads and a wide range of stakeholders to understand the change impact of SuccessFactors across Bird and Bird.

Collaborating with key workstreams and other Stakeholders, this role will help ensure that changes from the new HR system are evaluated, documented and suitable plans to carry out the changes are defined and executed.

This is a global project, which will replace our global core HR system, Select HR, and multiple recruitment systems.

The modular scope for phase one will include Employee Central, Recruiting and Onboarding. With a go live date of Q2 2025. Followed by phase two, which will deploy Performance & Goals and Succession & Development. The project will be supported by a number of workstreams where this role will be expected to work across, including Programme Management and Governance, Technology, Process Design and Change Management.

Lead the Change Management Workstream:

  • Lead the design of the global change management strategy to support the implementation of SAP SuccessFactors across the business.
  • Develop and execute change impact, stakeholder and readiness assessments
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to create and execute the change strategy.
  • Provide change management expertise and support across multiple workstreams:
  • Establishes HR Change network for the project and manages subsequent communications channel
  • Execute the change management, deployment, communication, and training plans.
  • Work with our implementation partner and Bird & Bird project team, fostering a 'one team' approach.
  • Conducts and documents change impact assessment e.g. from identified early changes in design workshops
  • Updates to change impacts.
  • Identifies and establishes change forums, plans and governance.
  • Design and execute the change management communication strategy.
  • Agrees and documents adoption targets for the new systems
  • Support the training and design of adoption materials.
  • Work with the project team to establish and lead business readiness activities for go live.
  • Align business readiness activities with Technology workstream technical readiness activities.
  • Support hyper care activity.

Stakeholder Engagement and Management:

  • Work with HR teams and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition to the go live of SuccessFactors.
  • Engagement & management to both technical & non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to present change plans and persuade senior stakeholders

Ensure successful transfer to business as usual:

  • Provide expertise in business readiness from project stage to post implementation to operational BAU.
  • Provide support to upskill project team and wider HR team on best practice change management methods.

Third Party engagement - partner & manage external suppliers.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience leading a change management experience in a global digital project (HRIS/Success Factors preferred)
  • Be Change Management Certified e.g. PROSCI (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience leading a Change Management team and managing the project Change Network
  • Best practice change management methodology.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and work with multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Change and Project management skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A self-starter who is highly motivated
  • Work collaboratively with other team members across the project groups and workstreams.
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Flexibility with time zones

The main responsibilities of this role are outlined above; however, this description is not exhaustive, and the job holder may be required to undertake additional duties from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the department. The role may require some working outside our normal working hours of 9:30am- 5:30pm.
