Department
The Business Development, Clients,
Marketing, Events and Communications team consists of 33 people who
focus on increasing the profile of the firm and the brand through a
variety of channels to create leads and opportunities that can
increase profitable revenues. The department is at the forefront of
several key strategic firmwide initiatives. Priding itself on
achieving strategic aims while ensuring a collaborative, inclusive
and rewarding team dynamic.
The Role
The role is part of a Client Team.
The Senior Executive the is responsible for supporting the Head of
Clients in creating, managing and implementing strategically
important client relationships, client development initiatives and
client solutions across the firm. The role also works with the BD
Manager, International to help manage the international referral law firms.
Key Responsibilities
Client Listening and matter reviews
Support the Head of Client and CMO in ensuring a coordinated
approach to all of the firm's client listening activity including
relationship review meetings, client matter reviews and pitch debriefs.
Support the programme of Client Reviews through undertaking
research and following up on actions and recommendations.
Client development initiatives
Manage the preparation of research with the wider Business
Development, Central Finance and Research teams to identify and
highlight client opportunities.
Work with the BDMs, Legal Operations team and the HR department to
support the secondment programme from a BD perspective, ensuring
that secondees are briefed before a secondment and that de-briefs
are undertaken both during and after a secondment finishes. Feed
information into all CRPs and relevant partner groups.
Support on client-related activities within the wider business
development team to ensure cross- group engagement and knowledge-sharing.
Create and maintain a toolkit of documents, best practice
guidance, tips and techniques for establishing client teams,
undertaking client reviews, creating client action plans and other
client-related activities.
Support the CMO in creating a quarterly update report on clients,
markets and competitors for the Partnership Board.
Create and maintain a Client Hub on the firm's intranet site.
Alumni programme
Work with the Head of Client to deliver an effective alumni
programme, ensuring that alumni activities reflect the firm's
strategic business goals.
As part of the wider Communications team, create content to
deliver a regular set of communications to the alumni community.
Ensure that the alumni micro-site is kept up to date.
International BD
Work with the Head of Client Relationships & Solutions, the
Enterprise Data team and the Central Finance team to ensure that all
appropriate data is captured related to all international referrals.
Working with the Partners and their PAs, manage all international
trip planning - to include arranging meetings, managing the
itinerary and providing pre-trip information packs (activity report,
country plan, bios, cheat sheet).
International Board Administration:
Attend regular meetings of the International Board including
agendas and noting action items.
Outbound trips:
Working with the International BD Manager and International
Board, plan 12/24 months in advance, a schedule of the
international trips to be taken.
On an ad-hoc basis manage the itinerary for outbound travel.
Coordinate the production of marketing material.
Produce research packs (activity reports, cheat sheets,
strategic plans).
Keep the rolling International Trip Planner up to date.
Manage the co-ordination of International Events:
International Programme(s).
International Associate Drinks.
Annual IBA Conference.
New Year Dinner.
Dinners and other events for London offices of overseas firms.
Seminars and workshops on international matters.

Reporting into: Head of Client Relationships & Solutions.
Wider BD & Marketing team.
Personal Specification - Experience, Knowledge & Skills
A minimum of three years' experience within a similar role ideally
within a professional services environment.
Experience with data management and research - desirable.
Experience in content marketing / campaigns / hot topics /
thought-leadership - desirable.
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
Excellent proof-reading skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage competing
requests from a large number of internal clients.
Proficient user of social media platforms.
Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, and Adobe
creative suite - desirable.
A strong and empathetic communicator who can build good working
relationships across the firm.
Professional in attitude and able to work under pressure.
Efficient and organised.
Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and persistence.
Proactivity seeks new opportunities to develop the Client function
internally and externally.
The drive to focus clearly on several different projects and
ensure that all deadlines are met.
