Department
The Employment team is a growing,
market-leading team with an international focus. The team of over
20 lawyers, partners with our broad range of employer clients to
provide them with innovative and brave solutions focussed advice
which helps them develop and protect their businesses. We strive to

The Role
This role will provide general
operational support to the Employment department by supporting the
partners with day-to-day and business-as-usual activities and with
the delivery of firmwide and departmental projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Operational
Prepare Genesis agenda, attend meetings, take notes and
track/deliver agreed actions
New joiner and leaver processes
Entrance / exit from leave processes (e.g. family friendly,
sabbatical, sick leave)
NQ and Trainee transition processes
Seating plan / room moves
Holiday handover management and assistance
Capacity / utilisation/ time recording reporting and work tracking
Work allocation assistance - regular catch ups with associates and trainees
Holiday and expenses approval
Socials and offsites
Pro-bono and CSR initiatives
Document / Intranet site management (with KLs)
Appraisal assistance
Coordinate department comms, proactively preparing drafts for others
Department rep for firmwide change projects
Support on recruitment processes / needs
Point person for business services BPs
Third party liaison (transcribers, other support providers) -
including assisting with terms of engagement etc
Ongoing operational process improvement
Data collection (e.g. work types, time recording, referrals)
Billing processes and WIP management
Time recording
Leavers, joiners, secondments, etc.
Coordination of and attendance at partner strategy days, including
agenda setting, note taking and following-up on agreed actions
International strategy assistance - tracking and updating
international contacts and referrals, proactively identifying
opportunities (with BD)
Assist the department preparing pitches and proposals, and other
similar opportunities (with BD)
Legal Project Management (LPM) / Legal Process Impreovement (LPI)
Planning new jobs - costing, resourcing, wider team
Enhancing productivity (with LTT)
Legal process improvement (with KLs / LTT) - including assisting
with toolkits, guidelines and process plans
Matter debriefs - client satisfaction, lessons learned (with KLs)
- including tracking our corporate deal work and getting feedback
identifying BD opportunities coming out of deal/matters (with BD)
Managing the creation of precedents / tracking deadlines (with KLs)
Liaison with eD - improve processes (with LTT)
Assisting with fee estimates/ quotes and matter (and matter type)
analysis - using data to ensure more accurate fee estimates and
identifying unprofitable matters.
Assisting with department initiatives e.g. ESG, Asset Management,
LCAT etc.

Personal Specification - Experience, Knowledge & Skills
An outstanding academic record.
Several years' experience supporting a legal practice group with
operational, LPM and LPI duties at a comparable firm.
Evidence of strong verbal and written communication skills.
An ability to demonstrate proactivity in a proficient manner.
A team player who thrives working within a collegiate environment; and
A willingness to show commitment and engagement to the firm's culture.
